Douglas Walton's role as Blond Student

Douglas Walton (left) as Blond Student in “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” (1931) with an unknown actor (right) who replaced Walton as the role of  Cesca's Boyfriend in "Scarface" (1931).  Both 'might' be friends in real-life.

He's the tall blond student that can be seen having a casual conversation with his classmates near the beginning of the film.  When the students saw Dr. Jekyll (played by Fredric March) arrived outside of the classroom, they shaped themselves up and formally greeted him with a bow.

As class was about to begin, Douglas Walton and another student made some snide remarks about Dr. Jekyll, knowing that he's going to say something wild about the human psyche, which he seemingly did.

After the session, all the students, professors, and even Walton thought the entire lecture was absolutely absurd.

This is the first of three movies where Douglas Walton and Fredric March share the screen.  The other two are "Dark Angel" (1936) and "Mary of Scotland" (1936).

The friend sitting next to Douglas Walton in the classroom had a part in "Scarface" (1931) as Cesca's Boyfriend...which was actually credited under Douglas Walton's name (Walton himself was NOT in Scarface)!  I don't know why they didn't credit the actual actor playing that role.  Maybe because he was just an extra?  There was an old news article mentioning that Walton's first step into the film industry was through a friend who was also an extra--could this be the same person?  Funnily enough, this actor also played alongside with Walton in another film, which was "Cavalcade" (1933).  I might have an idea on who this actor might be, but I honestly don't have a definite answer, I just know the two of them played alongside each other in films with uncredited roles under different studio companies ("Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" was from Paramount, "Scarface" from The Caddo Company/United Artists, "Cavalcade" from Fox).  From the looks of it, they were probably good friends.
